“Swim Near a Lifeguard” Campaign

The Florida Beach Patrol Chiefs Association (FBPCA) is dedicated to keeping Florida’s shores safe—and we’re proud to continue that tradition through our signature “Swim Near a Lifeguard” public education campaign. With the support of grant funding from Surfing’s Evolution & Preservation Foundation and Ron Jon Surf Shop, we've grown this initiative across billboards, airports, and highways statewide.

Beyond Advertising: Lifeguard Training & Flag Standardization

Since 2022, the Foundation has provided over $25,000/year to fund beach condition flags distributed statewide—enhancing consistency in beach safety alerts.
In 2025, they added $5,000 to register 12 Florida lifeguards for the USLA Training Officer Academy at The Breakers in December—elevating rescue training across the state.

By funding lifeguard training, unified flag systems, and educational campaigns targeting arriving visitors, our combined efforts help:

  • Boost public awareness of safe swimming zones

  • Equip rescue teams with better tools and knowledge

  • Protect visitors and residents from drowning risks
